Points of interest on the island:

The building we call 'The Old School'. Evidence of education dates back to the late eighteenth century

  • Standing Stone.
  • The lone sentinel stone is over 13 feet high. It is unusual because it has a hole through the upper part.
  • Old Beacon. The fixed light beacon was lit in 1789. The Beacon is now being restored and the island and Old Beacon was featured on BBC Restoration.
  • North Ronaldsay won the Scottish final...

...and went on to come third in the National Final in Southampton.

Our Visitors Centre is being developed. There is a webcam on the top of the lighthouse and an interactive display in the Centre.

Visit the North Ronaldsay Trust Website for further information.
